Divine Kibe is a senior at Newark School of Global Studies with a passion for neuroscience, molecular biology, and making a positive impact in her community. Throughout high school, she has balanced challenging coursework with leadership roles and volunteer work, reflecting her dedication to both learning and service. She has taken AP Language and Composition, AP U.S. History, and this year is enrolled in AP Literature, AP Precalculus, and AP Chinese. She also attended Senlinhu Concordia Language Camp in Minnesota, an immersive program that strengthened her love for languages.
Divine serves as President of Student Council, Vice President of Model United Nations, President of the Chinese Honor Society, and lead tutor for HSK preparation. In these roles, she has led initiatives to boost school spirit, prepare delegates for competitions, and support peers in achieving language proficiency, helping several students pass the official HSK test. She has earned multiple MUN awards, becoming the first in her club to receive such recognition, and was honored with the Miri Ben-Ari X Newark Board of Education “Symphony of Brotherhood Award” for her social service.
Beyond her school commitments, Divine volunteers weekly at a local hospital and serves as a Youth Advocate for the United Nations’ Pathways to Peace program. She hopes to combine her love of science with her dedication to helping others by pursuing a career as a neurosurgeon. In her free time, she enjoys reading, sketching, painting, and learning new languages, with the goal of becoming fluent in at least six over her lifetime.
Through her academics, leadership, and service, Divine strives to amplify student voices, create meaningful opportunities, and make a lasting impact on her school and community.
