Who We Are

The Newark Board of Education’s Office of Mentoring Services empowers students by incorporating student voice and fostering a mentoring culture in schools to fulfill the district’s ten-year strategic plan. Through meaningful relationships in school-based, peer, community, and corporate mentoring, we aim to enhance students' self- confidence, self-efficacy, leadership skills, academic and career readiness.
