Mark Comesañas serves as Executive Director of My Brother’s Keeper - Newark, a
systems building strategy of the Newark Opportunity Youth Network. Prior to this role,
Mark was on the founding team and Head of Schools for LEAD Charter School, New
Jersey’s first and only alternative education charter school. As an educational leader,
Mark has also served as principal and a middle and high school teacher within the
Newark Board of Education. He is an active member on several community non-profit
boards and his local church - La Vid Verdadera (translated: The True Vine). Comesañas
holds a Bachelor’s degree from Rutgers University, a Master’s degree in Educational
Leadership from Montclair State University, and is currently working towards a Doctoral
degree in Education & Organizational Leadership at the University of Pennsylvania. In
his spare time he enjoys spending quality time with his wife and three children.
