About Our School
Newark Evening High School: An evening High School for adults 18 years and over who have not earned a high school diploma in the state of New Jersey.
Acceleration Academy: Program of study for students currently enrolled in one of Newark Public Schools Comprehensive High schools who may be out of sequence with a course and need a jump start to get back-on-track; for students ages 18 and above who are under credited; or for those students who wish to accelerate their learning in order to take college courses in their Junior or Senior year. (Guidance Counselor recommendation is required.)
Continuing Education Academy: Program of study offering Continuing Education credits that support workplace skill advancement, and opportunities to engage in fun filled activities with peers.

Dear Adult Learners, Parents and Guardians,
We welcome you to an exciting year of learning and look forward to meeting your educational and career goals. This year, we are very excited to announce that we are working to add College, Career and Technological Education and Continued Education, courses to our very robust curricular options.
We will also offer courses and activities during an expanded service period to meet your educational needs.
Your involvement is a vital key to the Adult Education program of Newark Public Schools, we encourage you to monitor your progress regularly through our Student Portal, as well as meet quarterly with our Student Support Services department to review your Individual Learning& Career Goal plan. You are always welcome to meet with the administrative team and discuss your progress and any additional supports you may need.
The entire staff at is working towards the same goal – to ensure we provide an opportunity for each student to succeed and complete the requirements for a standard high school diploma/ industry credentials and post-secondary college and career placement and success!
We welcome your suggestions and questions. Consider being a part of our School Site Council and participate in the exciting changes and further development of our programs.
