Welcome from Principal Paich
Dear Ironbound Academy Elementary Parents and Students,
I hope this letter finds you and your loved ones in good health. Nothing excites me more than welcoming you to the 2022-2023 school year at Ironbound Academy Elementary School! We are officially opening our doors in just a few weeks, and we are excited to be able to invite families into the building once construction wraps up.
The 2022-2023 school year will be our foundational year. Our theme will be “Building Strong Foundations.” We hope to partner with you to ensure that all Ironbound Academy students build a strong academic and social foundation. We are working hard to establish a strong culture of learning.
As we embark on this new year together, I am proud to announce that we have recruited excellent teachers who bring significant experience in educating children from diverse backgrounds. Some of our teachers are joining us with decades of experience from another local school in the Ironbound. We also have teachers who are new to NBOE and have worked in towns across New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, California, and Washington State!
Our students will have opportunities to extend their learning through an engaging STEAM curriculum called Project Lead the Way (PLTW). Students will also have opportunities to engage in the Visual and Performing Arts and showcase their athletic skills in our newly renovated gymnasium! Our school has the next generation of Scientists, Teachers, Inventors, Artists, Athletes, Politicians, Performers, and Engineers.
The impact of the COVID-19 pandemic is still very much part of our daily lives. As a result, we will continue to implement safety measures to ensure the health of our students and staff. Students and staff will continue to wear face coverings, and we will require hand washing upon entry. In addition, classrooms will have hydroxyl units in all classrooms and gathering spaces. We will also implement exciting opportunities to address social/emotional or academic learning gaps through rigorous instruction, tutoring, and afterschool programming.
