Building Stronger Teams: Annual Facilities Professional Development Day

08-Facilities

The Office of Facilities gathered for its Annual Professional Development Day, hosted in collaboration with TESO—an esteemed group of retired school professionals who bring decades of insight and experience to support today’s educational leaders. With their deep understanding of the challenges school staff face—both inside and outside the classroom—TESO guided participants through a day filled with meaningful engagement, reflection, and camaraderie.

The training kicked off with small group pairings designed to break the ice and encourage authentic conversations. These brief, but impactful interactions opened the door to greater empathy and understanding across the team.

One of the most powerful aspects of the session was a deeper dive into the personal stories of colleagues. The team shared the origins of their names, childhood nicknames, and snippets of backgrounds—allowing all to see each other through a more human, personal lens. The energy in the room was electric—filled with laughter, storytelling, and genuine moments of insight. The Facilities staff walked away not just with new strategies for team building, but with a renewed sense of purpose and unity.

Special thanks to TESO for their expert facilitation and to every team member who showed up with openness and enthusiasm.
