The 36th Annual Newark Math Olympics was an electrifying showcase of mathematical prowess and problem-solving abilities. This year’s event took place at The Robert Treat Hotel where 56 District schools engaged in a series of challenging mathematical contests designed to push the boundaries of their analytical thinking and mathematical knowledge. From Geometry to Calculus, Algebra to Middle School Mathematics, participants were tested on a wide array of mathematical concepts, fostering an environment of intellectual rigor and innovation. After the first round there were 10 schools remaining; Lafayette Street, Oliver Street, Science Park, First Avenue, Technology, Bard Early College, Barringer, East Side, Data Science & Information Technology, and Global Studies.

The Math Olympics is not only a platform for competition, but also a celebration of mathematical excellence. The Jeopardy round was full of excitement seeing reigning champions in the final rounds ready to take the trophy back to school with them. As the Math Olympics came to a close, there were six 1st place winners. Science Park took home 1st place in 4 competitions which included Middle School Mathematics, Geometry and Precalculus. Newark School of Data Science & Information Technology took home the gold in Algebra 2, and East Side High School brought home the trophy for Calculus for the 4th year in a row. With the success of this year's Math Olympics, the District eagerly anticipates the achievements of next year's participants.
