The Office of Pupil Transportation is excited to announce a monthly bus pass program for upwards of 3,200 high school students who are currently eligible to receive public transportation resources. Currently, students receive single use bus tickets to travel to and from school. Through this pilot initiative, high school students who meet State eligibility guidelines will now be issued a monthly bus pass beginning January 2023!
Mr. Carlos Rodriguez, Principal of East Side High School notes, “East Side High School is extremely excited for the transition from single use bus tickets to bus passes. This new initiative will further streamline our current transportation systems at the high school level requiring less administrative time with regards to record collection, while simultaneously providing easier access for students in the district to receive the services they need.”
The Office of Pupil Transportation will evaluate and monitor the program for the remainder of the school year with hopes to expand the program throughout the district in the future.
