Newark Board of Education is gearing up for an exciting season of winter sports, following an unforgettable fall athletic season. Student-athletes wrapped up the fall season with remarkable achievements, including numerous state qualifications, sectional championships, and the historic accomplishment of the Malcolm X Shabazz Bulldogs football team making it to the NJSIAA Football State Championship for the first time in school history.

Winter sports have officially begun and the District looks forward to seeing student-athletes shine in the following programs:

  • Wrestling

These winter sports will provide students with an excellent platform to showcase their talent, teamwork, and dedication, both on and off the field. Whether it’s the fast-paced excitement of basketball, the precision of bowling, or the grit of wrestling, athletes are ready to represent Newark with pride and determination.
