Big Picture and PSE&G sponsored Barringer S.T.E.A.M.âs first STEAM Think Tank on February 15th. There were over 40 guests in attendance. We had representation from Rutgers, Clara Maass Hospital, Mars-Wrigley, Greater Newark Conservancy, The Newark STEAM Coalition, our Alumni Association and more. We also had leadership representation from Central Office. Deputy Executive Director from the Office of Bilingual Education Rebecca Odessey, Special Assistants Margaret El (Arts Department), Chamiris Mantrana (C.T.E.) and Ivory Williams (Science) were in attendance. Honestly, we did not know what to expect. However, they say âIf you build it, they will come.â Our community stakeholders definitely showed up and more importantly, they genuinely want to help be a part of the change that we are trying to effect. In fact, as a result of our newly formed collaboration with Rutgers, RU has agreed to host the next event at the college on Thursday, May 17th.
