Weequahic High School Teacher Bashir Muhammad Ptah Akinyele leads the Black Liberation Flag raising ceremony
With a gathering of students, educators, District officials, and city leaders, Weequahic High School kicked off Black History Month with the ceremonial raising of the Black Liberation flag that has become a school tradition.
Akinyele thanked those who helped make the flag-raising event possible, including Principal Kyle G-Khalik Thomas and the school’s Black History Month Committee.
Principal Thomas affirmed the school’s commitment to holding Black History Month activities.
