On Thursday, August 22, 2024, the Newark Board of Education celebrated its annual Back-to-School Kickoff, marking a vibrant start to the academic year. The event attracted over 680 families, creating an atmosphere filled with enthusiasm and anticipation. To ensure students were well-prepared for the upcoming school year, the District distributed backpacks and essential school supplies, igniting excitement among the young learners.

The event also featured the participation of 41 community-based organizations and various district departments, who provided families with a wealth of resources and information. Attendees enjoyed a variety of engaging activities, including learning stations, community resource booths, and free books aimed at promoting reading at home. The Newark Board of Education looks forward to a successful year ahead, expressing gratitude for the community support that plays a crucial role in student achievement.
