05-Arts

The Newark Board of Education played a significant role in the New Jersey School Boards Association (NJSBA) exhibit by highlighting the creative talents of students from various schools across the District. The exhibit served as a platform for students to express themselves artistically while demonstrating how arts education fosters creativity, collaboration, and personal growth. This showcase reflected Newark’s commitment to integrating the arts into the educational framework and providing opportunities for students to shine on a statewide platform.

NBOE students ranging from middle school to high school had their work displayed and acknowledged. Schools included: Ivy Hill, Salomé Ureña, South Street, Arts, Barringer, and Newark Fashion & Design. The artwork displayed not only celebrated individual artistic achievements, but also highlighted the broader impact of the arts on community-building and academic success. This initiative reinforced Newark’s dedication to nurturing well-rounded students by prioritizing the arts as a key component of a holistic education.
