The Office of Health, Physical Education and Athletics is proud to once again join with the Hispanic American Chamber of Commerce Foundation (HACCF) to host students from La Seṅora del Carmen Academy School in Puerto Rico! This partnership has now become an Annual Spring Break Basketball Exhibition event with several NBOE high schools.

The HACCF is entering its 23rd year of hosting students from Puerto Rico and their families in week-long educational and cultural activities culminating with basketball games at 3 of the District’s high schools. This year, students from East Side High School, Central High School, and Eagle Academy welcomed the contingent and engaged in a friendly battle of skills in front of students from their respective physical education classes. The games are always close and students cheer on both teams alike. At the conclusion of the games, the District’s host schools provide the players and their families with gift bags full of items representing their schools.

NBOE values its partnership with the HACCF and looks forward to next year’s event.
