The Facilities Department has diligently worked throughout the summer to ensure that all buildings are thoroughly cleaned and repaired in anticipation of the return of students and staff in September 2023. This year, the department implemented a district-wide painting program, which marked a departure from the previous year's operations. The program was launched with plans for interior painting of six schools, namely Central High School, Quitman Street, Speedway Avenue, Belmont Runyon, First Avenue, and Park Elementary. The coordination of this initiative involved managing painting contractors, furniture manipulation, and teachers packing up items in their classrooms. The Facilities Department has successfully completed painting at the noted schools, leading to an enhanced classroom atmosphere for a total of 4,716 students!
