Frequently Asked Questions regarding Special Education Transportation

Am I able to change my child’s bus company/route?

Bus routes cannot be changed without cause identified in statue and/or vendor contract.

What if my child misses the bus?

If a student misses the bus during AM pick up or PM drop off, the parent/guardian is responsible for transportation on that particular day.

If my child misses the bus in the morning, will he/she be transported back home in the afternoon?

Contact the bus company directly for notification that your child is present in school and requires transportation back home in the afternoon.

What is my child’s pick up time?

The bus company will call you and provide your estimated pick up/drop off times. Please note that there is a 15-minute window before and after the estimated pick up/drop off time. Also, buses will wait a maximum of 3 minutes. Parent/Guardians must be present during pick up and drop off.

Can my child be picked up or dropped off at a specific time?

Pick up and Drop off times cannot be altered as doing so will affect the on-time performance of the route.
