[Newark, NJ, – April 27, 2016] – In recognition of Earth Day on April 22, Newark Public Schools (NPS) students and Audible employees participated in a community service day at McKinley Elementary School. Over 125 NPS students and 40 Audible employees planted flowers and learned about recycling and the importance of being environmentally friendly.

“I would like to thank all of the Audible employees who came out to volunteer with the students at McKinley Elementary School on Earth Day. It is great for our students to learn about being environmental stewards, as well as to learn what it means to give back to your community, at a very young age,” said Superintendent Christopher D. Cerf of NPS. “Audible is a great partner and friend to the City of Newark. We are honored that Audible considers the Brick City home and we are grateful for their continued support.”

Audible, the world’s largest seller and producer of downloadable audiobooks and other spoken-word entertainment, is headquartered in Newark, and has been recognized as the fastest-growing private employer in the city.
