NPS Hosts Financial Aid Workshop for Parents and Student Graduates in 2018

Two Hour Workshop to be Co-Hosted with NJIT Trio

[Newark, New Jersey, September 29, 2017] The Newark Public Schools Office of Student Support Services and NJIT Trio presents FAFSA Fall Kickoff 2017; a two-hour workshop to help parents and students prepare for students who will be entering college in September 2018.

The workshop will be held on Saturday, September 30, 2017, from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. at the NJIT Campus Center Ballroom, 150 Bleeker Street, Newark, NJ.

At the workshop parents and students will receive assistance with completing FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid), students can get their FAFSA ID, scholarship information will be available and there will be gifts and prizes for those in attendance.

NPS Special Assistant of College and Career Access, Dr. Kelly Williams, said, “We are continuing to promote a college going culture in the Newark Public Schools. To that end, this Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) kickoff highlights the early opportunity for families to file the application and have full access to possible funds for college tuition and expenses.”

Dr. Williams encourages all senior students and parents to continue to watch the NPS website and other resources of NJIT Trio to be aware of all resources available to college-bound students.
