Newark Public Schools Hosts Red Nose Dance-A-Thon To Raise Money For Charity

Community members raise money to combat world hunger and benefit the Red Nose Foundation

[Newark, NJ – May 27, 2016] – Newark Public Schools (NPS) and Speedway Academies hosted the Red Nose 12-hour Dance-A-Thon earlier this week. Students and community members danced from noon until midnight, raising money to benefit the Red Nose Foundation and children in need.

“I am so proud of our students and community members who participated in the Red Nose Dance-A-Thon in order to support such an important cause,” said Superintendent Christopher D. Cerf of NPS. “With our contribution, the Red Nose Foundation can continue to benefit young people in need all over the United States and around the world.”

The Red Nose Foundation has raised over $1 billion globally over the last 25 years. All money raised supports projects that ensure kids are safe, healthy and educated. Proceeds also helps the Red Nose Foundation provide meals, educational resources, clean water, medication and vaccination for children around the world.
