Halsey Street is more fashionable than usual, thanks to the Newark School of Fashion & Design (NSFD)’s faculty and students.

Three prom dresses featured in the school’s reality series, Newark Fashion Forward, are now on display at 41 Halsey Street’s storefront window.

Newark Fashion Forward, a show in which three teams of student designers compete for a prize worth more than $10,000, launched on October 1st after a spectacular premiere event at the Newark Museum of Art. The display at 41 Halsey Street includes headshots and bios of the show’s cast members as well as episodes of the show playing on a television monitor.

Joining Principal Pitts at the ceremony were Chief of Staff Havier Nazario, NSFD Vice Principal Melissa Bauza, Director Career & Technical Education Sandra Marques, Department Chair Tara Ricci, Teacher Omneya Elsoufani, Realtor Melvin Sykes, and many NSFD teachers and staff members.
