NBOE Continues its Commitment to Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) Compliance

Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) regulations are a top priority in New Jersey, with the New Jersey Department of Health (NJDOH) and the Public Employees Occupational Safety and Health (PEOSH) ensuring compliance with the IAQ standard N.J.A.C. 12:100-13. Regular visual inspections, moisture control, a checklist, and a preventative plan are all in place to protect individuals from workplace hazards that could exacerbate allergies and asthma.

At the Newark Board of Education's facilities department, all Building Managers and the majority of Facilities Supervisors are well-versed in the IAQ standard. They are trained to identify potential issues and respond appropriately to any reports of poor IAQ. The Environmental Team is dedicated to providing ongoing training and resources to maintain a safe environment with the freshest air quality in New Jersey.
