Bow tie tradition keeps positive attitude growing at Newark’s Central High School

They knew it was risky, but the courage to be different was well worth it.

Six years ago, about 10 male students at Newark’s Central High School created a tradition that not only set them apart, but changed the social culture at their new school.

Once a week they put on a dress shirt, bow tie or neck tie, slacks and shoes. Some topped the outfit with a blazer, others put on suits or sweaters. Read the full story on nj.com
