32 NJ School Districts Offer Free Breakfast and Lunch Including Newark

Newark Public Schools is taking advantage of a new federal program – the Healthy Hunger-Free Kids Act – to offer free meals at 19 schools which started this school year. The Act’s Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) eliminates the need for parents to complete applications for free and reduced lunch meal applications. All students at participating schools will be served free meals, regardless of their family’s income level.
