NEWARK – Superintendent Christopher D. Cerf today issued the following statement regarding Carl Sharif:
“I am saddened to hear of Carl Sharif’s passing. Sharif was a force to be reckoned with here in Newark, serving as a mentor to so many of the city’s political leaders over the years. From his important work on the school board to his work on citywide races, Sharif was dedicated to standing up for the best interest of Newark’s families. He has made a significant impact on this community and his leadership will be greatly missed.”
