[Newark, NJ] The Look Good Feel Good Program (LGFG), in partnership with LVMH and Christian Dior, recently offered students of Newark School of Fashion and Design (NSFD) a unique educational experience. The field trip took the students to New York City's Christian Dior flagship store on 5th Ave and LVMH's corporate offices, where they gained valuable insights into the fashion industry.

During the visit to Christian Dior, NSFD students learned about all aspects of retail and the Christian Dior brand. They were given a store tour and gathered specific and essential information about the design process, history, and retail space management. They also learned different strategies and gained skills that enhance the customer experience.

At LVMH's corporate offices, the students were inspired by a panel of executives and industry leaders who answered their questions and shared their success stories in the fashion industry. This experience allowed Newark School of Fashion and Design students to explore how important representation is and various career options within the industry, from design and marketing to retail and management.

Martel Francois, the founder of LGFG, states that “ The goal, in collaboration with its partners, aims to provide students with the knowledge and skills they need to pursue successful careers in the fashion and luxury industry, to help close the wealth gap and create stable futures for themselves and their families.”

This field trip was just one example of the Newark Board of Education and the Look Good Feel Good Foundation's commitment to providing students with opportunities to develop their skills and pursue their passions. By partnering with industry professionals at LVMH and Christian Dior, the students gained valuable first-hand experience like never before.

Newark School of Fashion and Design Principal Pitts said,” It is my hope that partnering with some of the best in the industry, such as LGFG and LVMH, will lend itself to NSFD students having first-hand access to top-tier internship and apprenticeship opportunities before graduation.

This collaboration is set to have a transformative impact on the students, empowering them to pursue their dreams and build successful, rewarding careers. Together, the Newark Board of Education, Newark School of Fashion and Design, and the community can make a difference and create a brighter future.
