The Office of Special Education hosted its 7th Annual Autism Acceptance Kickoff on World Autism Day, April 2, 2025, bringing together the district community to promote awareness, understanding, inclusion, and acceptance of autism. The event reaffirmed the district’s commitment to creating a more compassionate and equitable learning environment for students with autism.
The 2025 theme, “Level Up Autism Acceptance,” encouraged schools to celebrate the strengths and contributions of individuals with autism. Schools were invited to create Arrow-Shaped Empowerment Walls, where students, staff, and families shared messages about how they were personally or professionally “leveling up” autism acceptance.
