Accomplishments

Communications systems have been created so that principals and teachers receive coordinated messages with clearer and consistent messaging. This also allows the central teams to monitor the flow of messages with an eye for efficiency and customer support that hasn’t previously existed. Principals, teachers, and central staff have all expressed high levels of satisfaction with these changes.

Highlights include:

  • Principal Points – a comprehensive weekly newsletter to all NPS principals that streamlines important administrative information and announcements
  • Teacher Talk – a bi-weekly newsletter for teachers that includes best practices, news around the district, resources and opportunities, teacher tips, and a note for the Superintendent
  • Restoration of NPS access to channel 77
  • Bi-weekly newsletter to School Advisory Board and other key constituents
  • In Our Schools – an informational newsletter highlighting academic updates and student/school achievement

Looking Ahead

Over the coming weeks and months, the Communications Department will:

  • Unveil a new branding campaign, including the roll out of a new mission statement and tag line
  • Completely revamp the NPS website
  • Create an internal web portal to improve internal communications
  • Adopt new systems that will allow for better news tracking and overall reporting and sharing
  • Launch a series of internal Town Halls to better inform central office employees of progress, goals, challenges and successes

Ways to get Involved

Our goal is to provide superior customer service, striving for transparency and meaningful, authentic engagement. We welcome all constituents – internal and external – to share ideas, feedback, and stories with the Communications Department.
