Here at Ivy Hill School our staff members are dedicated to providing every child with the best educational opportunities possible.  Our staff members realize the importance of developing in each child a degree of trustworthiness, responsibility, respect, caring, fairness and citizenship. A good attitude in school is the key to academic and social success.

At Ivy Hill School, we are required to hold a minimum of two (non-fire) drills in addition to one fire drill a month.  Security drills, which are similar in duration to a fire drill, are used to practice procedures for responding to emergencies. The purpose of all these drills is to allow students and staff to become familiar with emergency procedures. The local police and fire departments are notified of the drill schedule and work with school officials to monitor and participate in drill practice.

We wanted to inform you that during the month of January 2013, lockdown drills will be performed. Students and staff will practice approved procedures during these drills that take place during the school day.

Should your child have any questions or concerns after the drills, please do not hesitate to contact the school’s Guidance Counselors- Ms. Meola and /or Ms. Knight.

Thank you,

Lisa M Brown
