Meet the Math Coach, Ms. Kalimah Ransdell
Ms. Ransdell has been a proud staff of the Newark Public Schools family since 2016, when she began her career as an elementary teacher. She taught both 3rd and 5th grade, where she quickly became known for her passion, dedication, and ability to inspire young learners.
In 2022, she joined Speedway Avenue School as our Instructional Math Coach, where she now supports teachers and students across all grade levels.
Ms. Ransdell earned her Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Bloomfield College and her Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Montclair State University.
She believes that high-quality math instruction is more than just solving problems; it sparks curiosity, builds critical thinking, and helps students see the beauty of mathematics. Her mission is to create engaging learning experiences that encourage students to explore, question, and discuss math concepts with confidence. Ultimately, she strives to guide every student toward a deep understanding of mathematics while nurturing a lifelong love of learning.
