The School Leadership Council (SLC) consists of a diverse group of goal-oriented individuals who are representative of the school community. Its purpose is to improve the school by working on a comprehensive plan that focuses on student success. Membership on the team includes the principal, instructional and support staff, parents, and community members.

The SLC is responsible for advising the school administration on essential instructional, budgeting, and personnel issues. Members of the SLC work with the principal to assess and improve the instructional culture of the school. The role of the SLC is to be a collaborative, cooperative, advisory, and decision-making body that improves teaching and learning at Speedway School.
