Barringer's Public Safety Academy provides an outstanding opportunity for students to prepare for careers in planning, managing, and providing public safety, and protective services, including professional and technical support services. This academy provides real-world training and professional exposure, equipping students with both foundational career skills and mandated continuing education requirements.

Public Safety
- Learn the logical & systematic operation of the criminal justice system in the United States. Learn what the three agencies of the criminal justice system: law enforcement agencies, juvenile courts and adult criminal/civil courts, & corrections do and how they function.
- Learn the hierarchy of law enforcement agencies in the state of New Jersey.
- Learn the fundamental duties, philosophies, obligations, and influences inherent with being a New Jersey law enforcement or corrections officer.
- Learn the different agency’s purpose of organization, chains of command, rules, and regulations. Participate in innovative in-service training through field trips to various agencies.
