Welcome to the 2025 – 2026 School Year
August 4, 2025
Dear Ivy Hill Family,
Welcome to another school year at Ivy Hill Elementary. On behalf of our administrative team and dedicated staff of educators, we are excited to open our doors for the 2025-2026 school year. We trust you had a very safe and enjoyable summer with family, friends and loved ones. As a school community it's essential that we focus on our goals:
- Develop the whole child, focusing on the child's well-being, including: social-emotional, physical, creative, and cognitive capacities.
- Continue to increase Student Academic Performance
- Increase Parent & Community Involvement
When schools, parents, families, and communities work together to support learning; students attend school regularly, earn higher grades and are set up to be successful. We need your full support this school year. With this in mind, please take a look at the info below:
- The first day of school for students is Tuesday, September 2, 2025. In order to ensure that learning begins on time on the first day of school, I ask that students arrive and gather at their assigned entrance area by 8:15 AM in full uniform. Students in grades Prek-5 will be allowed to come into the building at 8:00am to eat breakfast. Students who come to school everyday and on time will be entered into monthly raffle drawings and also participate in monthly celebrations. Designated staff members will be present to ensure all students find their respective line location. Returning students in grades PreK-5 will enter through the playground. Students in grades 6th-8th will enter through door 3 on Richelieu Street. All bus students and new students will enter through the front door. Signs will be posted outside.
- All students MUST wear uniforms every day. The uniform colors are- green tops and khaki bottoms. Please note students are not allowed to wear athletic slides, yeezys slides or Ugg slides. The uniform policy will be enforced.
- Students will be assigned chromebooks within the 1st week of school. In order for students to be assigned a chromebook you must complete a lunch application which can be found on the district’s website https://www.nps.k12.nj.us/departments/sba/operations/food-services/lunch-application/ . If you have completed an application already, please ensure that you have the confirmation number for verification.
- Please ensure that all your contact information is updated in SchoolMint for further communications.
- Your child should be completing his/her summer reading assignment. Assignments will be collected on the first day of school and used as the 1st grade for the school year. Assignments can be found on the district and school websites.
- We will have our Back to School Night on Thursday, September 18th at 6:00pm in the school auditorium.
- The After School Program will begin in September. You can register your child for this program now.
