New Jersey Chief Technology Officer Visits NSDSIT
On May 18, the Newark School of Data Science & Information Technology was proud to welcome Kevin Dehmer, Chief Technology Officer for the State of New Jersey, along with Laura Console, Chief of Staff for the New Jersey Office of Information Technology. The visit was an exciting opportunity to showcase our school’s growing technology program and the innovative learning experiences available to our students, including our AP Cybersecurity pilot.
Mr. Dehmer previously served as Commissioner of Education for the State of New Jersey during Governor Phil Murphy’s administration and now serves under Governor Mikie Sherrill as the state’s Chief Technology Officer. In this role, he helps lead the modernization of New Jersey’s digital infrastructure, strengthen cybersecurity, and support the technology systems that help state government serve residents more effectively.
During his visit, Mr. Dehmer learned more about NSDSIT’s mission, our CTE pathways, and the ways our students are preparing for college, careers, and leadership in the technology field. We are grateful for the opportunity to share the work happening at NSDSIT and to highlight how our Circuits are helping shape the future of technology in New Jersey.
