How do I choose an AP course?
Start with your interests, strengths, goals, and available time. Review the course page, then talk with your counselor and teachers about prerequisites and a balanced schedule. Choose a plan that challenges you and leaves room for support, activities, and rest.
What is the difference between My AP, AP Classroom, and Schoology?
My AP is your College Board dashboard for joining AP class sections and accessing AP tools. AP Classroom contains course videos, teacher-assigned practice, and feedback. Schoology is our school learning platform for class materials and school communication. You may need to use both platforms.
I am in the class at school. Do I still need to join it in My AP?
Yes. Ask your AP teacher for the correct join code and complete the College Board steps for each AP class. Check that the course, teacher, and section are correct. Contact your teacher or the AP coordinator if something does not match.
Does taking AP automatically earn college credit?
No. Colleges set their own credit and placement policies. Use the College Board credit policy search and confirm details with the college. AP course completion, high school credit, and college credit are different things.
Does every AP course have the same kind of exam?
No. Requirements vary by course and can include exams, portfolios, projects, or performance tasks. Review the official course and assessment guidance and follow your teacher’s instructions. AP Networking has pilot-specific guidance for 2026–27.
What if I am struggling or worried about the workload?
Speak with your teacher and counselor early. Bring a specific question or sample of your work, review feedback, and make a manageable practice plan. Ask about available help, planning support, and school resources. Asking for support is part of taking on advanced work.
What should families know about exam registration, deadlines, and fees?
Follow school instructions from the AP coordinator. Confirm exam registration, school deadlines, any payment requirements, and available assistance directly with our team. School deadlines may be earlier than College Board deadlines. Do not drop a course or cancel an exam in My AP without speaking with the school team.
