Ms. Qadriyyah Williams
Principal
Qadriyyah Williams is a dedicated educator Newark native with a strong passion for student achievement and instructional excellence. She earned her bachelor's degree in Education from Montclair State University and began her career as an English Language Arts teacher at Harold Wilson Middle School in Newark. Her commitment to professional growth led her to become a Teacher Coach at South Seventeenth Street School, where she supported instructional improvement and teacher development. Ms. Williams later earned a master's degree in Educational Leadership from Seton Hall University and served as Vice Principal at South Seventeenth Street School.
Ms. An'Tiona Miller
Vice Principal
Ms. Miller was born and raised in Newark, New Jersey, where she is a proud graduate of Science Park High School. She then went on to attend and graduate from Howard University with a BS in Health Sciences with a Physical Therapy concentration. As a part of the Newark Montclair Leadership Pipeline Program, Ms. Miller received her MA in Educational Leadership from Montclair State University.
Ms. Miller joined NBOE in September of 2014 teaching as a RCI teacher at Louise A Spencer after working in a PSD classroom in Maplewood. In September of 2018, Ms. Miller joined the Beaver Family as a middle school LLD-S teacher. She also has experience teaching students with various self-contained special needs classrooms from PK to eighth grade. During her tenure in NBOE, Ms. Miller has been a classroom teacher, School Test Coordinator, Tutoring Coordinator, and RCO pull-out teacher.
She now will continue to serve the students, families, and South 17th Street community as the Vice-Principal.
Mrs. Jamila Colin
Vice Principal
Ms. Jamila Colin brings years of experience and dedication to the role of Vice Principal. Beginning her career as a Special Education Teacher at 13th Avenue School in Newark, she worked to support students with diverse learning needs. She later continued her journey at South Seventeenth Street School, where she served in various special education capacities and as the Teacher Literacy Coach.
Her strong educational foundation includes a Bachelor’s Degree with Dual Certification in Elementary Education (K-6) and Teacher of Students with Disabilities, complemented by a Minor in English and Math. She also holds a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from Montclair State University..
