PCCC STEM Enrichment Series For High School Students.

Today, (Thursday, March 4, 2021) our Scholars, Kezia Oshuporu, Junior, and Nidir Williams, Senior, represented our illustrious learning institution in one of the best ways. They had the opportunity to interview the Mayor of the city of Newark and did an amazing job. They were able to ask their own insightful and challenging questions as they served as reporters and ambassadors for Malcolm X Shabazz HS.

Bridge Year Pilot Program
Attention All Students of Graduating Classes of 2021 and 2022.
Last summer, the Governor signed into law P.L. 2020 c. 41 requiring the Commissioner of Education to establish the Bridge Year Pilot Program (“Program”). The stated purpose of the Program is to provide eligible students who are scheduled to graduate in 2021 and 2022 with the opportunity to offset disruptions to learning opportunities and participation in extracurricular activities that resulted from the closure of schools to in-person instruction in Spring 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

About Our School
Our mission is to provide each scholar with a rigorous curriculum to ensure college and career readiness, cultivates leadership, upholds a commitment to community. You wonder how a school can exist in such a unique space, it’s because of our Bulldog PRIDE. PRIDE which stands for Perseverance, Resilience, Integrity, Determination and Excellence.
Our Core Values
- The future belongs to those who prepare for it today.
- We believe in scholars and their dreams.
- We teach scholars, not just content.
We believe education does not start or end in the classroom. True learning occurs at all times, when you succeed, when you fail, when you make mistakes, and when you accomplish your goals. We believe that as a school we are teaching all the time. Every hallway interaction, home visit, and family meeting communicates who we are, what we value, and why we are here.

Welcome Back Letter
Dear Parents and Scholars:
Welcome Back to Malcolm X Shabazz High School 2020-2021 school year. We hope that this year with us will be educationally profitable for you.
Each year is a time for change as we are preparing you for the next level. You will be expected to attend school regularly, complete all assignments, and behave appropriately. Your year will be exciting and filled with many new opportunities.
An unexpected global pandemic has forced us to think creatively, communicate in unique ways, and has now brought us closer as a school community. I am so proud of the collaboration, hard work, and dedication that has been exhibited by all of you. While we continue to face many challenges due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the civil unrest in this nation, one important fact remains true--the residents of our great city of Newark are resilient and possess the grit necessary to overcome any challenges we face.
