Education is the passport to the future, for tomorrow belongs to those who prepare for it today."

Meet the Principal
Dear Malcolm X Shabazz Family,
Welcome to the 2021-2022 school year. It is with great pride and excitement that I write this letter of introduction to you as the newly appointed Principal of Malcolm X Shabazz H.S. I am honored and humbled to have the opportunity to lead a school with such a rich history. The ability to stand on the same stage that Martin Luther King, Jr. spoke is truly a privilege. With over twenty-five years in this field, I bring with me a wealth of knowledge and experience. I look forward to meeting and working with all of you.
After over a year of functioning fully remote or hybrid, we are excited to return to the traditional mandatory five full days of in-person instruction in the building. Due to the ongoing impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, we will continue to implement mitigation measures as established by our Opening of School Task Force, written in the Safe Return Plan published on both our school and district website. This will include the requirement for all students to wear masks while indoors and comply with ingress/egress procedures. Our school district through its partnership with the Health Department continues to provide access to COVID-19 testing and vaccinations sites for students and families.
As the African proverb states, “It takes a village to raise a child.” and I have a team of committed faculty and staff ready and excited to start the year. In the spirit of high expectations and in the quest of excellence, every staff/faculty member has participated in a multitude of trainings in social emotional health, differentiating learning styles and student engagement specifically aligned to all subject matter. We will continue to implement initiatives to promote teaching and learning, to engage all stakeholders in the process of educating our students. Read more.......
