Description: SUMMARY FINDINGS Barringer High School is currently structured as a comprehensive high school. The 2012 facility condition assessment survey finds this school to be in FAIR physical condition. The exterior doors/windows, equipment/fittings and HVAC systems & controls are among the building elements that are at or near the end of their service life, and many of the floor, wall and ceilings have damage from heavy ware and tear. Additionally, the Educational Adequacy of the Classrooms and Special Spaces compared to the NJDOE FES are both VERY GOOD. With investment to remedy deferred maintenance deficiencies and selectively update this mid-20th Century modern school building the structures useful life can be extended another 20-plus years as part of the district long range plan. Recent 2012 enrollment indicates that this comprehensive high school is overcrowded with 2012 occupancy at 125% of capacity.
