About Us
Welcome
Every Child, Every Family, Every Day ♥ Cada Niño, Cada Familia, Cada Día
For over a century, Branch Brook School has served Newark's children as an exemplar in special education practices. In 1924, Branch Brook School opened its doors as a pioneering facility for children with physical disabilities. In the mid 1990’s, it became a PreK-4 school for inclusion, earning the prestigious National Blue Ribbon Award in 2004. Continuing its tradition of barrier-free learning, Branch Brook evolved into one of Newark's Early Childhood Centers, focusing on inclusionary preschool and kindergarten programming for children in the North Ward.
In 2024, Branch Brook became Newark's first public school for children with Autism. While education has changed, our mission remains constant: to celebrate the unique strengths of every child and create meaningful opportunities for all students to thrive. Together, we will continue to ensure that all children are empowered to reach their fullest potential - Every Child, Every Family, Every Day.
