Description: SUMMARY FINDINGS Peshine Avenue School was designated a Renew School in 2012. The 2012 facility condition assessment survey finds this school to be in VERY POOR physical condition. Multiple components and systems in the 101 year old original building are antiquated and in extremely poor condition including the exterior facade, ceilings, roof and HVAC systems and controls. Additionally, the Educational Adequacy of the Classrooms based on the NJDOE Facility Educational Standards (FES) is FAIR, while the Cafeteria, Media Center, Gymnasium special spaces are significantly undersized and VERY POOR. Given the very advanced age of the original school wing and substantial cost that would be required to improve significant existing deficiencies cited in the FCI Report, it is suggested that this school facility be phased-out of service and replaced as part of the districts long-range plan.
