Parent Portal
Dear Parents:
It is with great pleasure that I extend a warm welcome to you and your family at the start of a new year filled with hope and high expectations. Belmont Runyon School continues to strive towards excellence with the support of our parents and South Ward Community.
As this school year begins, we have reflected on our past accomplishments and challenges. We are ready to move forward with a bright vision for your child’s success. Your child will receive additional support services this year as we seek to educate and improve the “Whole Child”. You play an important role in the success of your child. We look forward to a yearlong partnership that will empower all individuals to have a positive impact on our building. This year we will continue with our family and community activities, and we will continue to seek your participation.
All students are expected to arrive to school on-time on Tuesday, September 3, 2019 at 8:20am. Our teachers and staff will be there to greet them as we begin to create positive relationships for the new school year. All students were issued a summer reading novel and homework packet in June. Throughout the summer we have sent home reminders about the importance of them completing these assignments. The first week of school your child will have the opportunity to reflect on their summer reading with their teacher during engaging extension activities.
Please be reminded that all students are expected to wear school uniforms to school daily. Our school uniforms consist of navy blue bottoms (skirts, capris or pants), yellow or navy blue polo shirt or uniform dress shirt. Students are also required to wear uniforms for physical education and dance class. The uniform for those classes will be navy blue sweat pants and a yellow or navy blue t-shirt. Students are permitted to wear navy blue sweaters or sweatshirts during cooler months. All uniforms are supplied by Kids Place at 126 Broad Street, Elizabeth, NJ 908-355-0600.
Announcements about future activities and school-wide initiatives will be sent home at a later date. In the meantime, if you have any questions about programs at Belmont Runyon School, please contact our office at 973-733-6920.
Sincerely yours,
Deneen Washington
Principal
