About Our School
Ridge Street School is part of the Newark Public Schools district. Mr. Roger León is our Superintendent. Mr. David DeOliveira is our principal and we have three vice principals, Mrs. Raquel Ramos-Brown, Mr. Frank Mavilla and Mrs. Jacqueline Tomczyk. We are located in the North Ward section of Newark (Forest Hill), near Branch Brook Park.
Ridge Street School is a PK – 8 school which consists of two locations: The Main Building/Temporary Classroom Units (TCUs), and the Early Childhood Center. Our main building is located at 735 Ridge Street. There are approximately 600 students attending Ridge Street School.
Our staff is comprised of dedicated teachers who care very much about our students. Many of our teachers have been the recipients of grants and awards during this school year and previous school years. Our support staff and non-instructional personnel are also very dedicated to our students.
