Ms. Barroso believes that education can change the trajectory of a child’s life and that a strong school can be the catalyst for improving a community from within. Our charge as educators is not simply to teach; it is to ensure that our children learn and progress so they can achieve with their peers nationally and globally to solve problems in innovative, environmentally-friendly, and equitable ways that ultimately make a positive impact on their community and the world. It is to ensure that our children develop their own identity and voice so they can think critically and fight for justice. Ms. Barroso will work relentlessly to ensure that all students at Avon Avenue School excel so they can be instrumental in this change.
