About Our School
Franklin School is a Pre-Kindergarten to Eighth Grade school located in the North Ward section of the city of Newark. We are a member of the North Region of the Newark Public School. Built in 1889, Franklin School is located in a predominantly Hispanic community. We house one of the largest Bilingual Education in the district with the majority of our students coming from homes where Spanish is the first language.

Dear Franklin Elementary School Families, Students, and Community,
I am honored to introduce myself as the new Principal of Franklin Elementary School. With over 12 years of experience in education, I bring a deep commitment to nurturing a supportive, inclusive, and enriching learning environment. These values are deeply rooted in my upbringing by my mother, who immigrated from the Dominican Republic in search of the opportunities that hard work and education provide.
For the past two years, I've had the privilege of serving as Vice Principal at Rafael Hernandez School for the Newark Board of Education. This experience reinforced my belief in the crucial role of fostering strong connections among students, families, and school staff to drive student success. I am eager to continue cultivating these collaborative relationships here at Franklin Elementary.
I am also enthusiastic about working alongside our dedicated staff, who are committed to nurturing the academic and personal growth of every student. Together, we will uphold the high standards of excellence set by former Principal Amy Panitch, ensuring that Franklin Elementary remains a place where every child thrives.

Estimadas familias, estudiantes y comunidad de la Escuela Franklin,
Es un honor para mí presentarme como el nuevo Director de la Escuela Franklin. Con más de 12 años de experiencia en educación, traigo un profundo compromiso de fomentar un ambiente de aprendizaje solidario, inclusivo y enriquecedor. Estos valores están arraigados en mi crianza, guiada por mi madre, quien emigró de la República Dominicana en busca de las oportunidades que el trabajo duro y la educación ofrecen.
Durante los últimos dos años, he tenido el privilegio de desempeñarme como Vice Director en la Escuela Rafael Hernández, perteneciente a la Junta de Educación de Newark. Esta experiencia reforzó mi creencia en fomentar conexiones sólidas entre los estudiantes, las familias y el personal escolar para impulsar el éxito estudiantil. Estoy muy entusiasmado por continuar cultivando estas relaciones colaborativas aquí en la Escuela Franklin.
También estoy muy emocionado de trabajar junto a nuestro dedicado personal el cual está enormemente comprometido por el desarrollo académico y personal de cada estudiante. Juntos, mantendremos los altos estándares de excelencia fomentados por la ex Directora Amy Panitch, asegurando que la Escuela Franklin siga siendo un lugar donde cada niño prospere a su máximo potencial.
A partir de este nuevo año escolar, quiero que sepan que mi puerta siempre estará abierta y por favor no duden en comunicarse si tienen preguntas o inquietudes. Así que con mucho esmero e interés espero su valiosa e incondicional colaboración.
