Session 2: Mindfulness Mindfulness is an important part of Self-Care. Mindfulness provides a way to nurture a sense of quiet inner peace, improve one’s ability to learn, and promote deeper and more meaningful relationships. Studies show that the practice of mindfulness helps people to focus better, leads to increased learning, improves mental health and well-being, and enables better decision-making and higher social skills. The basis of mindfulness is to practice bringing intentional and careful awareness to the present, without judgment. It is a way that we can bring more compassion and care to ourselves and, in turn, to the rest of the world. In this session, participants will review three small things they can practice to increase mindfulness in their daily life. |
