The 21st Century College and Career Camp offers a 5 week summer program that provides a broad array of enrichment activities, career and technical programs, art, music, STEM and physical activity programs. Students choose one A.M. selection and one P.M. selection.
All activities are designed to prepare students for careers in the 21st Century. Camp includes tours to local colleges and universities every Thursday and fun field trips on Fridays! Math and English/Language Arts tutoring available daily.
Intro to City Planning & Urban Development: Designed to teach students the field of City Planning. Students work alongside government officials and professional city planners to understand how to create strong and vibrant communities.
Intro to Performing Arts/Dance: Students will take dance classes with professional dancers and learn styles such as afro beats, interpretative, hip hop, praise and contemporary dance.
Intro to Coding/Robotics and Drones: Students apply newly learned knowledge to code ROBOTS and DRONES to complete in various coding challenges. Guaranteed LEARNING, Guaranteed FUN!
Intro to Audio Engineering: Working with a professional DJ, students will learn the basics of mixing, blending and DJ technology and production.
Intro to Visual Arts: Designed for students who want an introduction to the concepts and functions of the visual arts offered in a professional teaching artist.
Intro to Martial Arts: Students will have fun as they learn to manage stress and weight through fitness. Certified instructors will provide a set curriculum instruction and opportunities for level (belt color) progression.
Intro to Sports Conditioning: A strength and fitness professional will use exercises to enhance athletic performance, strength training and aerobic conditioning. Students will engage in several sports such as basketball and fitness.
SYEP: Dr. Marion A. Bolden Center is a SYEP site. Any students wishing to work at the Bolden Center must choose Bolden Center as a site. Please note that any SYEP students working at the Bolden Center must work a full day from 9:00 A.M. – 3:00 P.M. Half days are not allowed.
Transportation: Yes. Bus will be provided to the Bolden Center from the following locations: Arts High School and Weequahic High School. Details will be provided with the confirmation letter.
