Opportunity Program

Madam C.J. Walker’s Natural Health and Beauty Science Academy

VISION STATEMENT

The Engineering Academy is an interdisciplinary, small learning community where scholars examine real-world problems and develop possible solutions to solve them. The curriculum is designed for high school students who are considering a career in engineering and wish to learn more about the nature and challenges of the engineering profession.

Our mission is to inspire young people to be science and technology leaders, who excel academically, succeed professionally, and positively impact the community.

By engaging our scholars in exciting programs that build science, engineering, and technology skills, inspire creativity, and that foster well-rounded life capabilities including self-confidence, communication, and leadership.

MXS boasts one of the most comprehensive extracurricular programs in the city.  Cultivating a well-rounded scholar includes offering activities that will allow them to stay engaged in learning while practically applying the skills they have developed.
