Jay-Z’s Shawn Carter Foundation Scholarship
The Shawn Carter Foundation Scholarship provides financial support to high school students as well as undergraduate students entering college for the first time. The purpose of the scholarship is to help under-served students who may not be eligible for other scholarships.
Students who have either graduated from high school or earned their G.E.D. may apply. Minimum grade point average is 2.0. Students must have a strong desire to go to college and earn their degree. Students must also have a desire to give back to their communities.
Black Women Lawyers (BWL) Scholarships
Black Women Lawyers (BWL) Scholarships are available to 2nd and 3rd year full-time law students, as well as 4th year law students enrolled in part-time or evening law school programs. Applicants must be enrolled in an accredited law school and plan to practice law in the Southern California area.
To apply, students may send a completed application along with an official transcript from law school, a resume, and a letter of recommendation from a professor. An essay of 5 pages or less will also be required.
Chesapeake Energy Scholarship
Chesapeake Energy Scholarship is available to female, minority, and socially disadvantaged high school seniors who are graduating from a high school in the Dallas Independent School District. Applicants must be U.S. citizens with a grade point average of 3.0 or above.
All applicants must be in a college preparatory program preparing for college. Candidates have to complete their ACT or SAT testing and also be accepted by an accredit college, university or vocational school. The scholarship is for minorities, which includes females, American Indians, Aleuts, Asian-Pacific Americans, Black Americans, Eskimos, Hispanic Americans, Native Hawaiians, and Subcontinent Asian Americans.
Gamers In Real Life (G.I.R.L.) Game Design Scholarship
Gamers In Real Life (G.I.R.L.) Game Design Scholarship is open to undergraduate college students enrolled in a program related to video games. Programs can include video game art, design, animation, production, programming, or visual effects.
Applicants must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher and must be at least 18 years old. They must be legal residents of the fifty (50) United States, including the District of Columbia. Students may enter the contest in the Art and Design category, or the Programming and Engineering category.
Miami Heat Scholarships
Miami Heat Scholarships offer four different scholarship opportunities for high school students currently attending public or private schools in Miami-Dade, Broward, or Palm Beach County, Florida. Students must demonstrate financial need.
The scholarships include two Miami Heat Scholarships and one Dr. Jack Ramsay Scholarship for students who excel academically and in service to their communities, and one Alec Kessler Student-Athlete Scholarship for a student who has demonstrated high academics, community service and participation in sports. All requirements also include financial need.
Selby Scholarship
The Selby Scholarship is available to high school students graduating from a high school in Sarasota, Manatee, Charlotte or DeSoto counties, Florida. Applicants must demonstrate financial need.
Candidates are required to have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher. All applicants must plan to either enter a four-year degree program at an accredited college or be current students at Manatee Community College who will go on to pursue a four-year degree. Applicants will be evaluated according to their academic credentials, financial need, school and/or community activities or work history (work necessary to support themselves and their family).
KATU Thomas R. Dargan Scholarship
KATU Thomas R. Dargan Scholarship is open to minority college students in the states of Oregon and Washington. Minority students can include Asian; Black/African American; Hispanic or Latino; American Indian or Alaska Native, Native Hawaiian or Pacific Islander.
Applicants must be at least college sophomores attending an accredited four-year college or university or an accredited community college (where credits can transfer to a four-year college) in Oregon or Washington. This scholarship is for students studying in the fields of broadcast, communications, or multi-media.
NBNA Scholarship Program For Black Nurses
The NBNA Scholarship Program offers 14 scholarships each year to students pursuing a career in nursing who are members of the National Black Nurses Association, Inc. The scholarships are based on merit and financial need.
Eligible students must be enrolled full-time at a two-year or four-year college or university pursuing a Bachelors, Associate, or L.P.N. degree with at least one year of school remaining. Applicants need to be active in student nursing activities as well as African-American activities in the community. Scholastic achievement is important.
Vinson and Elkins Scholarship
Vinson and Elkins Scholarship is open to high school seniors of African-American, Asian, Hispanic, Native American, or Pacific Islander origins who live in the greater Houston, Dallas, and Austin areas. It is for students who are pursuing careers in law.
Applicants must rank in the top 20 percent of their class, have an SAT score of 1650 or higher, demonstrate financial need, and plan to pursue a career in law. The scholarship covers over four years for tuition, and full-time paid internships at the law firm. The scholarship will also pay the tuition for a LSAT preparatory course.
Voya Unsung Heroes Awards Program
Voya Unsung Heroes Awards Program awards grants to educators of grades K-12 who use new teaching methods and techniques to improve learning. Qualified applicants include full-time educators, teachers, principals, paraprofessionals, or classified staff.
Educators may enter by submitting a description of the project they want to pursue. Projects must have the ability to influence students in a positive way and are judged by their innovative method, creativity, and quality. One hundred educators are chosen annually to receive a grant that will help fund their class projects. Three final recipients are then selected to receive additional funding.
Kraft General Foods Scholarship
Kraft General Foods Scholarship is for female high school seniors through college seniors who are interested in careers in skilled trades or manufacturing technology. Applicants must be women and/or minorities who reside in Michigan.
Applicants must be pursuing careers in the construction trades, science technologies, engineering-related fields, and mechanic and repair technologies. The scholarship is for residents of Calhoun County, Michigan, who are interested in skilled trades or manufacturing technology careers. To qualify for this scholarship, applicants must be women and/or minorities.
Microsoft Disability Scholarship
Microsoft Disability Scholarship enables disabled high school students to attend either a 2-year or four-year college. Eligible students are high school students living with a disability. Disabilities can include visual, mobility, hearing, speech or cognitive.
Applicants must plan to major in engineering, computer science, computer information systems, legal or in business, including paralegal, pre-law, finance, business administration, or marketing. They must also have a passion for technology and demonstrate financial need.
Dr. Alma S. Adams Scholarships
Dr. Alma S. Adams Scholarships are awarded to full-time students pursuing careers in public health, communications, social work, education, liberal arts or related fields. They must have a strong interest in and a record of community service related to raising awareness of tobacco’s harmful impact.
Candidates must be pursuing either an undergraduate or graduate degree at an accredited college or university in the United States. Applicants must have a 3.0 grade point average and demonstrated financial need. They must also have a background of community service within an economically or socially disadvantaged community.
Geddes Creativity Scholarship Contest
Geddes Creativity Scholarship Contest is open to high school juniors and seniors, including those who are home schooled. Candidates must plan to attend either a two-year technical school or four-year college or university.
Applicants must be at least 14 years old and residents of the U.S. The contest consists of submitting an art design that would not only appeal to students in grades K-12 but could also appear on school supplies such as pencils, bookmarks, folders and other products. All artwork submitted should be fun designs and original work of the student.
All About Education Scholarship
All About Education Scholarship is for students 13 years of age or older who are planning to attend an accredited post-secondary institution of higher education no later than the fall immediately following their graduation from high school. Current college students may also apply.
Applicants must complete an essay that addresses the question “How will a $3,000 scholarship for education make a difference in your life?” The essay must be 250 words or less and describe what education really means to them. All submissions must be original work.
Pfizer International Scholarships
Pfizer International Scholarships offer fellowship opportunities for international medical students. The scholarships enable students to do research for one month in associated areas of clinical and research medicine.
Five different scholarships are offered. They include Urodynamics scholarship, Neurology scholarship, Clinical scholarship, and Research scholarship. Each scholarship will allow early career practitioners to spend up to one month at an accredited specialist center.
The Milton Fisher Scholarship for Innovation and Creativity
The Milton Fisher Scholarship for Innovation and Creativity is open to students who will be attending college in Connecticut or New York City, and to students who are residents of Connecticut or New York City who will be attending college anywhere.
Students in their first year of undergraduate college, as well as high school juniors and seniors planning to attend college, are eligible to apply. This is a unique scholarship that is based on the student’s ability in innovation and creative problem solving. A total of 3-6 scholarships are awarded each year and are renewable up to four years.
Emerge Scholarships For Women in Georgia
Emerge Scholarships are awarded to women whose education has been interrupted and who want to return to school to finish their education. Up to 13 scholarships are awarded every year.
Eligible women may include those returning to school after a hiatus, women who are changing careers or needing further education for career advancement, mothers returning to the workforce and others. Women must be 25 years old or older and enrolled in an accredited institution. Scholarship money may be used for tuition and fees.
Microsoft Imagine Cup Games Competition
Microsoft Imagine Cup Games Competition is open to students age 16 and older who have a strong interest in video game design. Students around the world may enter.
The Imagine Cup Games Competition is a global contest for students who want to create the best new desktop or tablet game using Windows, or a mobile game using Windows Phone, or a browser game using Windows Azure. Students may enter alone or as a team. Games must not exceed 500MB in size.
ING Unsung Heroes Program
The ING Unsung Heroes program is a scholarship/grant program for K-12 educators that are utilizing new teaching methods and techniques to improve learning. Educators are welcome to submit an application describing projects they have initiated or would like to pursue.
Each project is judged on its innovative method, creativity, and ability to positively influence students. Each year, one hundred educators are selected to receive $2,000 each to help fund their innovative class projects. Three recipients are then selected to receive additional top awards of $5,000, $10,000, and $25,000.
