Newark Public Schools (NPS) will recognize the importance of afterschool programming this week by hosting a legislative bus tour with elected officials, community leaders and philanthropists from across the city, part of a national celebration called “Lights On!” highlighting the positive impact afterschool programming has on Newark’s young people. Over 7,300 students participate in after school activities within Newark Public Schools.
