Gail was a lifelong resident, valued labor leader, and close friend of mine who left an undeniable impact on our community through her tireless advocacy for Newark residents.
Gail was a lifelong resident, valued labor leader, and close friend of mine who left an undeniable impact through her tireless advocacy for our community. Gail was employed by the Newark Public School System from 1984 to 2015, in 2009 she was sworn in as the president of Local 3/SEIU for Workers United, and she also served as a Legislative Aide in my office. During her tenure for Newark Public Schools, she fought for wage increases along with higher quality working conditions.
We ask that all attendees arrive 30 minutes prior to the ceremony.
