Newark Public Schools students in grades K-12. LIMIT ONE ENTRY PER STUDENT.

Poster Requirements
Posters created by students must be their own original artwork. Copyrighted characters (such as Superman) or copyrighted clip art will not be accepted.

Students may use a variety of media, such as watercolor, pen and ink, crayon, chalk, markers, etc. Students are encouraged to incorporate recycled or recyclable materials into their creations.

Minimum: 8 ½” x 11″
Maximum: 18″ x 24″

Please submit all posters to: NPS Central Office, Grants Office, 765 Broad Street, 3rd Floor

Judging Criteria

  1. Clear message conveyed by the text and artwork
  2. Creativity, originality and artistic quality
  3. Visual clarity – easily read
  4. The Release Form is filled out and attached to the back of the poster
  5. No copyrighted artwork, characters, or name brands (i.e. Coke, Pepsi) are used in the poster

Suggestions for posters: Show items that can be recycled in Newark and/or how to recycle these items. Don’t forget items that people might not remember to recycle or know how to recycle, such as clothing, plastic bags, cell phones, and rechargeable batteries! You can also show recycling facts and tips on how to recycle both common and uncommon household items.
